Athene Holding Ltd., founded in 2009 and headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa, is a retirement services company focused on providing financial security to retirees. Athene offers fixed indexed annuities, registered index-linked annuities, fixed and immediate annuities, and structured settlement annuities to individuals through financial professionals. On the institutional side, Athene provides pension group annuities (pension risk transfer), flow reinsurance for other insurers, and funding agreements for large institutional investors. Athene is part of Apollo Global Management, a global alternative asset manager, giving it access to Apollo's investment origination and asset management expertise.
