As a regional, nonprofit healthcare system, caring for people in the community is not only what Centra does, but it is also central to who we are. We care for our patients like we would care for our own friends and family. Formed in 1987, we are based in Lynchburg and serve over half-a-million people across central and southside Virginia through an established network of facilities and services. We operate four hospitals, five medical centers, a nationally award-winning cardiovascular care center, a cancer center, a 24/7 virtual care platform, and 15 primary care and various specialty practices as part of our Centra Medical Group. We also offer a wide range of senior, post-acute, and mental health care services.
