Remote Interpreting:
• Over the Phone (OPI)- OPI is the classic way of getting connected remotely to an interpreter. End Users (provider, teachers, government staff) dial into a phone number, select a language, and are connected within seconds to a medically qualified interpreter. Propio has industry leading connect times for 13 seconds for Spanish and 23 seconds for Non-Spanish. End users can have our interpreters leave voicemails, connect with a patient at home, or be placed on speaker to conduct an encounter with a person who has Limited English Proficiency (LEP) while they are in the room. Still constitutes the vast majority of our volume and revenue.
• On-site interpreting- the most personal way of receiving interpretation services. Requires a high degree of coordination and many special regulations including credentialing, pre-screening, and training.
• Translation- Taking written text and converting from one language to another while maintaining the best contextual meaning. Commonly done for patient education, marketing materials, etc. Submitted through our online portal, Vu.
• Localization- The act of taking materials written and formatted for one language/type of written language, and translating, formatting, and orienting it with a fully correct context.
