Quality Assurance Specialist

About this Position

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to assess the software quality of our existing products and perform testing on the new features that are coming out of our development pipeline. You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and issues. The ideal candidate is someone who is thorough and passionate about quality assurance, and who will help us build better products.

Responsibilities

Test current products and identify deficiencies
Suggest solutions to identified product problems
Identify and document defects in a clear and concise manner using the assigned issue-tracking system
Take ownership of the identified defects and monitor the fixing process until they reach the live environment
Collaborate with developers to identify or demonstrate failure points and investigate possible solutions where appropriate
Perform confirmation of reported issues as well as testing of defects and enhancements, ensuring software functions as desired according to design specifications
Support the release process by identifying what is ready to be released and checking if the release was successful
Review the requirements for new features to check for possible problems even before they go into development
Collect quality data
Identify KPIs for product quality

Requirements

2 + years of experience with software QA tools and processes
Experience with QA methodologies
A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company's success
Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle best practices, Agile/Scrum methodologies
Basic knowledge of relational databases
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
Strong organizational skills
Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
Working knowledge of open-source test tools is a plus
Eagerness to automate processes in any area is a plus
Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test case
