Profile

Learn how to complete your vendor profile and keep it up to date.

Shortlister is the trusted source for employee benefits and HR tech buyers. Buyers are doing more research than ever to make empowered, data-driven decisions. With unbiased data on 300+ products, more in-market brokers, consultants, and employers choose Shortlister to guide their buying decisions. Control the brand message shown to buyers and keep the market up to date on your capabilities in your Shortlister Profile.

Find your Profile page in the Admin section. Add your company information, media, and primary products to improve your visibility to brokers, and track your completion progress on the right.

Completing your profile isn’t required, but the more complete it is, the easier it is for buyers to find, evaluate, and shortlist you. Share as much as you’re comfortable with; if there’s information you’d prefer not to share, leave that field blank. Please don’t enter “N/A.”

Company Intro

Open the Company Intro by clicking the pencil (Edit intro) next to your company name. Add a cover image from the profile header.

  • Cover Image — Add a high-quality image to personalize your vendor profile. You’ll be able to crop and adjust it before saving. JPG or PNG files up to 5MB are supported; for best results, use an image at least 512px wide. Add it from the “Add cover image” button on the profile header.
  • Logo — Used in your vendor profile header and throughout the platform. Upload a high-quality PNG, SVG, or JPG file (max 5MB). For best results, use a logo with a transparent background where possible.
  • Small Logo (Favicon) — Displayed in compact areas like search results, lists, badges, and cards. Provide a PNG, SVG, or JPG file (max 2MB); for best results, at least 128×128px. We periodically add your company favicon automatically, but uploading one makes your preferred version available right away.
  • Company Name — Enter your company name as you’d like it publicly displayed. This name appears across your vendor profile, product pages, and broker-facing views.
  • Short Summary — In 250 characters, briefly describe what your company does and who it’s for. This appears at the top of your profile. A prompt appears if you exceed the limit.
  • Location — Enter your company’s primary location or headquarters.
    • Save Changes — Click “Save changes” to keep your updates.

Primary and Secondary Products

Select the products you offer. Primary products include a complete product page; secondary products include only a few high-level details.

Primary Products are core to your business — what you’re widely known for. Think of this as the key “entry product” an employer or consultant might search for. Add up to three primary products that best represent your offering; they appear at the top of your vendor profile and link to detailed product pages.

Tip: If a product is sold standalone, or is a term a buyer would find synonymous with your brand, it’s likely a Primary product.

Secondary Products are bundled with your other offerings, not sold on their own, provided via a third party, or something you can offer that isn’t a core competency.

Adding Products

Click “Add your first product” and choose the product type — Primary or Secondary — then continue. You’ll be taken from your company profile to the Products section to build the product, including its category, supporting details, key features, and media.

You can complete your products right away, or use the breadcrumbs at the top to return to your profile and finish the remaining profile sections — we’ll guide you back to your products in the next step.

See Products help for a full walkthrough on completing each product.

Media

Media is any image or video you add to bring your profile to life. Media you add here on your profile, plus media added on individual product pages, all appear together in your profile media gallery. Use “Go to media management” to view and edit everything in one place.

  • Images — Add images that help brokers better understand your products and services. You can upload multiple files at once. Supported formats are JPG and PNG, with a maximum file size of 5 MB per image. For each image, add a Title and a short Description. Use “Also show on” to choose additional products where the image should appear (it always appears on your profile). Turn off “Publicly visible” to hide an image from your public profile while keeping it visible to brokers.
  • Videos — Embed a video by entering its YouTube or Vimeo URL. Paste the full link. The video appears on your profile with a thumbnail and a play button. For each video, add a Title and a short Description. Use “Also show on” to choose additional products where the video should appear (it always appears on your profile). Turn off “Publicly visible” to hide an image from your public profile while keeping it visible to brokers.

Sales Materials

Sales Materials are downloadable files that buyers can access from your profile. Add marketing files, whitepapers, product sheets, and other materials related to your profile or products. The maximum file size is 10MB. Files added to individual products or your profile all appear here together.

Name each file and add a short description so the buyer knows what they’ll learn by accessing it.

Company Overview

Add the details that help brokers understand your company at a glance. Click the pencil (Edit company overview) to open the editor, which has three sections: Company info, Business info, and Clients.

Company info

  • Year Founded — The year your company was established.
  • Number of Employees — The total number of employees at your company. Used to help brokers understand your organization’s scale.
  • Website — Your main company website.
  • Company Description — Provide a clear overview of your company, mission, and services. Start with a high-level introduction to the problems you solve and the people you serve, then add your mission, key offerings, and what makes your organization unique.
  • Social Media Links — Add your public LinkedIn and X links to direct visitors to your pages.

Business info

  • Plan Funding — In 250 characters, briefly describe how your program is funded (e.g., fully insured, self-funded, level-funded). This helps brokers understand the financial structure of your offering.
  • Funding Source — Select your most recent type of funding from the drop-down list.
  • Funding Amount — Enter the total amount using K, M, or B (e.g., 500K, 20M, 1.2B).

Clients

  • Clients — Build a brag book of top clients to display to prospective buyers. Add a client logo, client name, and website URL, then click “Add client.” Repeat for each client you’d like to feature.
  • Clients can be added at the company level and/or at the product level.
  • Save Changes — Click “Save changes” to keep your updates.
